Finding the Right Lipstick Posted by BeautyCare.com
Question:
I can't seem to find a lipstick or eye shadow that I can wear everyday. The color never looks good on me and I want something natural. I have brown hair, brown eyes, and rosy skin. Please help!!!! J., Fanwood, NJ

Answer:
"It sounds like with your beautiful rosy skin tone, colors that have a hint of sand or brown to them will look best with your coloring. Like a rosy-brown lip color, or a sandy taupe eyeshadow. Try staying away from blue-based colors, as they can make your pink skin tones look more so. Dark brown eyes also look great with the new sheer lavenders, and grayish lilacs that are strong for fall this year. It could also be the application that is making your makeup seem more than natural. Rule of thumb: Always have your darkest part of the eye makeup be your eyeliner, and have your lipstick balance your eyeshadows...not too dark and not too light. And apply your blush first before any other color. That way you avoid the 'I can see your blush a mile away' look!." - Elke Von Freudenberg
